Walkers are welcome at Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast We were really looked after by the owners who made sure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were amazing and really kept us going for the day.

The area is fantastic for walking. We took the coastal path to Coldingham and then walked back via Alemill. The scenery was stunning and there were plenty of beaches to explore on the route. On our second day we walked from Burnmouth which is a quaint little fishing village, to Eyemouth again along the coastal path. There are numerous other walks in the Eyemouth area and we will return again to Hillcrest Bed and Breakfast so that we can further explore the area.

Activity Breaks

Activity Breaks

Eyemouth is conveniently situated on the Cycle Route 76 which runs from Newcastle to Edinburgh.

Hillcrest welcomes cyclist and we have a double locked garage where the bikes can be stored safely.

A recent group of cyclists arrived at Hillcrest Bed and Breakfast in Eyemouth, having cycled from Alnmouth to Eyemouth in the pouring rain. The rain was running off them and they were soaked through, so it was a great relief for them to arrive and be greeted into warm, cosy and comfortable accommodation. We tumbled dried all their wet clothes for them, stuffed their wet shoes with newspaper ready for the next day.

They thoroughly enjoyed their stay and after a Full Scottish Breakfast at Hillcrest, they set off for Edinburgh.

Eyemouth is an easy communte to Scotland's capital city of Edinburgh.

We recently had a District Manager staying with us in Hillcrest Bed and Breakfast, who was working for 4 days in Edinburgh. He travelled from the Midlands and stayed overnight with us in Eyemouth to break his journey. He enjoyed his stay at Hillcrest and decided to book an extra 3 nights, rather than find a bed and breakfast in Edinburgh. As Eyemouth is near Edinburgh and so is conveniently situated for travelling on the A1, it is a great location for staying outside of the city of Edinburgh.

During Edinburgh Festival in August, Edinburgh gets very busy and accommodation is booked up sometimes a year in advance. Therefore, Hillcrest in Eyemouth is a great base during the Festival time.

On Friday we had a lovely family come to stay at our bed and breakfast in Eyemouth - Hillcrest. A lovely family who live in Bath were visiting friends and needed somewhere to stay for the night. They booked the family room at Hillcrest, two boys aged 8 and 10 and a little girl aged 4 with their mum. It was a real joy to have them stay at our bed and breakfast. the boys fought over the top bunk and the mum and daughter had a single bed each in the same room. In the morning it was the eight year old who ventured out of the room first with mum and he really enjoyed his coco pops while mum had the full Scottish breakfast with haggis and all! When the two other children woke they rubbed their eyes and came into the dining area and joined in the feast. They were going to visit Gunsgreen house and go swimming and for a tour around the shops with the boys determined that their mum would buy a fishing rod each!. They put some nice comments in the guest book before they left and I hope that we will be seeing them back before too long.Posted on Sun, May 30, 2010 by Anne McNeil
